For me, Rotaract is a place where giving back, learning, and genuine connection come together. As the co-founder and president of Rotaract Hamburg International, I wanted to help build a community where people from different countries, cultures, and backgrounds feel welcome and inspired to contribute. Having lived in New Zealand, Italy, and Sweden, I have experienced how much we can learn when we open ourselves to perspectives different from our own. What makes Rotaract so special to me is this unique mix: we create impact for others, grow through shared experiences, and build friendships that go far beyond the club itself. I am proud of what we have achieved since our founding in February 2025 and even more excited for everything that is still ahead.

Rotaract means giving back to the community, supporting people who need help, and creating positive change together. As a Filipino, this connects strongly with the value of Bayanihan — the idea that a community comes together to help one another without expecting anything in return. Growing up with this mindset taught me that real progress happens when people support each other and work towards a common goal. What I appreciate about Rotaract is that it brings together people from different backgrounds who share a desire to contribute, learn, and lead through service. It is not only about networking or professional development, but also about using our skills, time, and energy to make a meaningful impact on society. For me, Rotaract is a way to live out the spirit of Bayanihan on an international level: building connections, helping those in need, and creating opportunities for others to succeed. Together, small actions can make a big difference.
